Yes. All of our chessmen follow the Staunton pattern, the standard design for club and tournament play.
How many pieces are in a chess set?
Thirty-two, plus two extra queens in our sets, for thirty-four in total.
Are the boards real wood?
Our boards and wooden chessmen are made of wood; each product page lists materials for that set, including where pieces are metal or high polymer.
Which sets are magnetic?
Any product with Magnetic in its name. On the all games page you can also search for the word.
How many players for Shut the Box?
One to four on four-sided boards, one to six on the upgraded board.
Do mancala sets include stones?
Yes, multi-colour glass stones with spares.
Is the backgammon set a travel size?
It is a 15-inch folding set in a leather case: compact enough to carry, large enough for comfortable play.
How should I clean a wooden board?
With a dry or barely damp soft cloth. See our care guide.
A piece lost its felt. What now?
A small drop of craft glue will re-seat it. Press it under a book overnight.
