About AMEROUS Shut the Box Games

An old pub game that teaches arithmetic

Shut the Box has been played in taverns for centuries, and it happens to be excellent mental-maths practice. Every roll asks the player to split a total into numbers still standing, which is why teachers and grandparents both keep one around.

Two-sided, four-sided, six-player

Our four-sided boards let up to four people play at once, each with a row of tiles facing them. The upgraded version seats up to six. All of them work perfectly well for one.

Built for the dice

The playing well is lined with felt so dice land softly and stay in the box. The number tiles are wood, hinged on a metal rod, and flip with a satisfying clack.
