About AMEROUS Chess & Checkers Sets (2 in 1)
Two games in one box
Chess and checkers share the same 64 squares, so there is no reason to own two boards. Every 2-in-1 set includes 32 chess pieces, two extra queens and 24 checkers, all stored inside the folding board.
A set that grows with the player
Checkers is where many children start: the rules take five minutes. When they are ready for more, the chess pieces are already in the box. For families and classrooms it is the most useful single set we make.
Magnetic or weighted
Some of our combination sets use magnetic pieces for travel and outdoor play; others use upgraded weighted chessmen for a steadier feel at home. The product pages spell out which is which.
Questions about chess & checkers
How many checkers are included?
Twenty-four: twelve per side, the standard count for American checkers.
Is the board the right size for both games?
Yes. A 15-inch board gives chess pieces room to breathe and makes checkers easy to slide and jump.
Are these good for kids?
They are our most popular family sets. Younger players can start with checkers and move to chess on the same board.
Where do the checkers go when playing chess?
Inside the board. The lined interior has room for the full chess set, the spare queens and the checkers.
