AMEROUS 15" Magnetic Chess & Checkers Set, 3" King

On the table

One board, two games. We pair a full magnetic chess army with 24 wooden checkers, a dozen light and a dozen red-brown, so the evening does not have to end when the chess does. The board measures 15 by 15 by 0.95 inches open and folds to 15 by 7.5 by 1.9 inches when it is time to go.

Each piece has a magnet inlaid in its base and flocking underneath. That means steady footing in a strong wind and a soft, quiet landing on every move. The king stands 3.0 inches tall, and two extra queens are in the box. Board and pieces are solid wood with a fine finish that wipes clean easily.

Inside, individual slots keep the pieces in order, so nothing wanders off between home, school and the office. It suits a first-time player as well as someone who has been at it for decades, indoors or out.
