On the table

Missing checkers have a way of ending a game before it starts. This set replaces them all at once: 30 pieces in natural wood, 15 of each color. That count covers a full game of checkers and also a full game of backgammon, and we add five dice for the latter.

Each piece measures 1.3 inches (32 mm) across, a size that is comfortable for adult hands and for children alike. We round and smooth the edges so there is nothing sharp to catch a finger. The pieces pair best with checker or backgammon boards from 12 to 17 inches.

Everything goes back into the included drawstring bag when the game is over. Keep it with the board you already have, and the next time someone asks for a rematch, you are ready to play.
